CMR, GOP not credible
If a resolution to gut the Office of Congressional Ethics would have gone to a vote, Cathy McMorris Rodgers declared she would have voted for this measure. In March, this non-political Office of Congressional Ethics said there was “substantial reason to believe” that the illegal diversion of tax-paid staff, resources and money to her campaign occurred. The allegations were referred to the House Ethics Committee, which chose not to empanel a subcommittee to investigate after she lawyered up and former staffer Todd Winer was vigorously defamed.
After House Speaker Paul Ryan and colleagues gleefully outlined their plans for the next Congress, within hours the ethics debacle occurred, revealing her party does not have a clue why Americans are mad.
McMorris Rodgers and her colleagues have shot themselves in the foot right off the bat. The sickening reality is not just her party’s arrogance or its incompetence. It is also its relentless damaging ideological battles. For eight years, they have strove to repeal and replace Obamacare. They still have no plan, no details only a promise the rug won’t be pulled out from anyone. Really? They are not believable or trustworthy and CMR is one of them.
