Student says vote yes

I have attended Cheney School District since kindergarten and have witnessed tremendous growth in our schools. While I was at Windsor Elementary, attendance doubled from 300 to 600 students. Our elementary schools and high school have not received needed renovations to ensure safety and provide the most effective learning environment.

Cheney High School now has six portables, and almost all elementary schools have some as well. The workout and sporting facilities are overcrowded, requiring busing of many athletes to neighboring schools to practice. We are short specialty classrooms such as science labs, woodshop, cooking, band, choir and art classrooms, and our auditorium needs to be larger to accommodate performances.

As an ASB officer and senior at Cheney High School, I’d like to encourage you to vote yes to invest in all our schools, our community and us kids. Go Blackhawks, go Wolverines and go Wildcats.
