Obama was successful

The Obama presidency is an unmitigated success. He was handed a Republican Great Recession, near economic collapse and the Iraq mess. In spite of an obstructionist, sabotaging Republican Congress bent on his demise, he leaves office with a 60 percent approval rating.

Why? Because we are undoubtedly better off than we were eight years ago. Unemployment is 4.5 percent; remember Spokane was 12 percent back then. Interest rates are at historic lows, inflation is near nonexistent, the housing market has rebounded, the stock market is doubled and gas prices are low. Also, the domestic auto industry is thriving, saved from extinction along with millions of high-paying American jobs.

We do not have 150,000 Americans stationed in Iraq getting their arms and legs blown off and killed. Bin Laden is dead and ISIS is on the run, with 50,000 ISIS fighters and leaders killed with strategically targeted drone strikes. Obama will go down in history as a great president, saving our democracy.

If you do not agree, I will refund your Republican inspired Great Recession and misguided Iraq war.
