Roy Murry files appeal of three life sentences for murder

Convicted murderer Roy H. Murry has filed an appeal of three life sentences handed down this month for the death of his estranged wife’s parents and brother.

A jury found Murry guilty of killing Terry Canfield, 59; Lisa Canfield, 42; and her son, John Constable, 23. Murry then set their home on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence. His now ex-wife, Amanda Constable, was supposed to be home at the time of the murders but was asked to work overtime unexpectedly.

The lengthy trial exposed Murry’s history of paranoia and delusions, including his claim that his wife and mother-in-law were Russian spies.
