Gonzaga’s Rui Hachimura scored 16 of his 18 points after halftime to help Japan to a 76-73 overtime victory against Egypt at the FIBA U19 World Cup.

Hachimura was just 4 of 13 from the field but the sophomore forward made 9 of 12 at the free-throw line. He hit a pair of free throws with 4.8 seconds left to put Japan up by three. Egypt misfired on a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Hachimura grabbed 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the tournament. He also had four assists, four blocks, two steals and six turnovers in 39-plus minutes.

Japan, which evened its record at 3-3, takes on Puerto Rico in the 9th/10th place game.
