Spokane welcomes new farmers market downtown

By Drew Gerber The Spokesman-Review

A new downtown farmers market opens this Tuesday, filling the void left by the former Spokane Public Market that closed in 2014.

The market, which will feature local vendors, live music and a beer garden, is open and free to the public from 4-7 P.M. at the Parkade Plaza.

The new Spokane Public Market’s inaugural season will carry every Tuesday through September 26, although organizer Arhen Resleff told The Spokesman-Review that the market may continue into October if there is great enough demand.

Resleff also added that he hopes to hold extended market hours the first day of every month during the season to allow attendees to appreciate the beauty of downtown at night.
