Man shot to death in Seattle’s Columbia City neighborhood

SEATTLE – Police say a man was fatally shot when someone fired into a crowd at a park in the Columbia City neighborhood.

KING-TV reported people were gathered at a memorial Friday evening for a 32-year-old man who was fatally shot in the area Sunday when at least one car arrived and someone inside began firing.

Seattle police said on Twitter that officers were investigating a shooting at 37th Avenue South and South Oregon Street.

Police tweeted at about 9:30 p.m. that the incident had become a homicide investigation.

Police say the victim was in his early 20s and had been taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he died.
