Multiple people injured, including baby, in downtown Spokane crash

From staff reports

Multiple people, including an infant, were hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash late Sunday in downtown Spokane.

Just before 10 p.m. an SUV eastbound on Sprague ran a red light at Division Street street and collided with a northbound minivan, Spokane police said in a news release.

The minivan flipped on its side in the crash, and the driver needed to be extricated.

Major crimes detectives and a drug recognition expert investigated the crash because police believe drugs and alcohol may have been involved in the crash.

The three occupants in the van and the driver of the SUV were transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. A baby riding in the minivan also was injured.

Police are asking people who witnessed the crash to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233 if they haven’t already been interviewed by an investigator.
