Support Tony Hazel

My name is Matt Cozza, and I am the son of the late Superior Court Judge Sam Cozza, who died this past January. I still keenly feel my father’s absence, as do many members of the greater Spokane community.

However, I have taken some solace in the fact that the person who has filled his vacancy on the Superior Court bench is Judge Tony Hazel. Tony was a dear friend to my father, and my father held him in high regard. Tony has been a good friend to me and my family as well, especially since my dad’s death.

A couple weeks before my dad died, Tony visited him in his hospital room to watch a Gonzaga basketball game, and I joined. The three of us, all Gonzaga alumni, shared stories about work, traveling to Italy, and our respective GU experiences, and we watched the Zags beat LMU. Memories like these make me miss my dad very much.

I know that if my father could have picked his successor, he would have chosen Tony Hazel. He is a good man, and is absolutely the right person for the job. I encourage everyone to vote for Judge Tony Hazel for Superior Court.
