Area roundup: CC Spokane names Bryan Winston head baseball coach

The Community Colleges of Spokane announced on Thursday that Bryan Winston has accepted the position of head baseball coach.

Winston had a distinguished career in playing and coaching baseball throughout the Inland Northwest, and is no stranger to Bigfoot Athletics.

After graduating from Richland High School in 2003, where he was a three-year varsity letter winner, Winston played for the Sasquatch in 2004 and 2005. In 2004, Winston was named to the second team East Region All-Star team as an infielder. In 2005, he earned both first team East Region All-Star and first team All-NWAC selections.

Winston earned undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Gonzaga after his playing career at CCS ended.

Since 2009, Winston has been an assistant coach at CCS, working primarily with infielders and hitters.

Winston replaces Bobby Lee, who coached the Sasquatch for the past nine seasons.

Additional administrative duties as the Assistant Athletic Director/Dean will keep Lee busy as he continues his work with CCS Athletics and the Community Colleges of Spokane.
