DON’T MISS: “The Sinner” – Jessica Biel, who once starred in “7th Heaven,” embraces hell in this unnerving eight-part miniseries.

She plays a shy young mother who, when overcome by a sudden fit of rage, commits a startling act of violence and – to her horror – has no idea why. Her inexplicable behavior launches an offbeat crime thriller in which the central mystery isn’t who, or how, but why.

Bill Pullman plays a police detective who tries to make sense of her actions. 10 p.m. Wednesday, USA.
