Banking

Numerica Credit Union has announced the promotion of Kelly Crawley to manager of the Airway Heights branch. She has been with Numerica for 13 years, most recently as assistant branch manager at the Lyons location. Numerica also has hired three senior home loan officers, Debbie Krum, Linda Dean and Mark Quillin. Krum comes to Numerica with 12 years experience from INB. Dean comes to Numerica after 17 years as a Realtor. Quillin has 20 years of experience and most recently worked at Wheatland Bank.

Rob Stewart has been promoted to SBA loan officer at Columbia Bank. Most recently the vice president and market manager at Columbia’s downtown Spokane branch, Stewart will work with teams in Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington and Idaho.

Aimee Leighty has been promoted to consumer loan officer at Idaho Independent Bank’s Coeur d’Alene branch. Leighty has 10 years of banking experience and will manage a consumer loan portfolio while building customer relationships.

Banner Bank has been recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as 2016 Regional Lender of the Year for the Seattle/Spokane district, which includes all of Washington state except Vancouver. The award was determined by measuring the number of small-business loans, total dollars approved and other metrics. Banner was the top Washington-based lender and third among all banks serving Washington.

Education

Mathew Jeffries has been named director of Washington State University’s Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center. Jeffries, who is an academic coordinator in the University’s College of Education, has previously researched transgender students and gender-inclusive housing; organized Lavender Graduation, a celebration for LGBT students and allies graduating; and advocated for gender-inclusive restrooms at WSU’s Education Addition Building.

Engineering

Brett Holt has been hired by Century West Engineering as project engineer. He will design, plan and inspect construction for the firm’s aviation projects in the region. Holt has five years of civil engineering experience; projects in his portfolio include Kansas City International Airport and Dallas Love Field.

Miscellaneous

Senior Housing News has recognized Rockwood Retirement Communities’ The Summit at Rockwood South Hill project with its Best Renovation/Repositioning Award for 2016. The Summit project involved marketing studies to provide the amenities and design sought by the growing senior population. Rockwood Retirement Communities completed the 11-story high-rise in the middle of its campus in March 2016.

Real estate

Kiemle & Hagood Co. has announced the hiring of Chad Burd in the company’s commercial brokerage division in Coeur d’Alene. Burd is a licensed Realtor in Idaho and Washington.

Tourism

Kevin Twohig, Spokane Public Facilities District CEO, has received the Leadership Excellence in Tourism award. Twohig was honored at Visit Spokane’s annual meeting with the award, which recognizes an individual who has had an impact on tourism in Spokane for at least 10 years. Twohig has had a voice in the Spokane Convention Center expansion and improvements at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.
