A Spokane County Jail inmate attempted to hang himself Thursday morning but was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared in critical condition Thursday evening.
The man was discovered sitting on the floor of his cell with a sheet wrapped around his neck around 10:45 a.m., according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. He was unresponsive.
Major Crimes detectives are investigating. The name of the inmate has not been released. He was being held on two felony charges.
