Three teens accused of pepper-spraying Portland bus driver

Associated Press

PORTLAND – Portland police arrested a young woman and two girls accused of attacking a bus driver with spit and pepper spray.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says 18-year-old Jada Thompson was booked into jail on charges of assault, disorderly conduct, unlawful use of pepper spray and interfering with public transportation. Two minors, a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old, faces charges of disorderly conduct and unlawful use of pepper spray.

Simpson says the trio boarded the bus shortly before midnight on June 9, then spit on the driver and used pepper spray. He says surveillance images released to the public led to tips.

The bus driver was not seriously injured and returned to work.

Court records don’t list an attorney to speak on Thompson’s behalf.
