Focus on city tasks

Could I offer the Spokesman-Review and the Spokane City Council a little advice about a Spokane citizen common concern that deserves some attention?

While your story and coverage Feb. 13 of the Muslim Somalian refugee Nedira Achmed at Gonzaga University was warm, wonderful and interesting, I was somewhat disappointed City Council President Ben Stuckart was in attendance, and so angry that he felt compelled to engage in hateful verbal-flatulence by saying: “We must yell even louder when the bully is at the pulpit, disparaging us from his Twitter account.”

I would suggest Stuckart and City Council slackers give some concern and attention to our absolutely disgusting, crumbling city streets that suffered unusually harsh snow-plow destruction this winter. Will our council ignore all normal legit government concerns (police, fire, sewer, streets, recreation) and only involve and concern themselves with international immigration issues?

I suggest the City Council to return to primary citizen concerns, and leave international immigration law to be regulated by Seattle federal judges.
