CMR cares for regon

I want to thank Cathy McMorris Rodgers for fighting for our firefighters who protect our property and lives. One example is when she led a bipartisan effort to exempt seasonal firefighters from the federal hiring freeze.

While the fires may seem like a distant memory given the current snowy winter weather, our representative is working hard for us. Cathy pushed through the Resilient Forests Act, which has long-term funding for firefighting and management of our forests through timber harvesting. This activity will provide rural communities with economic opportunities as well as helping prevent fires.

Cathy works on issues that are closest to us because she cares. Seasonal firefighters are crucial to reducing the destruction of fires in our region. It is important we focus on the issues at home and we have a representative who does just that.

Thank you, Cathy, for your care of Eastern Washington.
