3A: Nathan Hale 68, Garfield 51: Michael Porter Jr. scored 27 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Raiders over the Bulldogs at the Tacoma Dome.
The Raiders’ fourth victory over Garfield this season capped a perfect 27-0 campaign after they finished just 3-18 a year ago.
Nathan Hale trailed by three at halftime but outscored the Bulldogs 23-11 in the third quarter and never let the Bulldogs get closer than five in the fourth quarter. Porter capped the game with an emphatic one-hand slam dunk after he passed to himself off the backboard in the closing seconds.
4A: Kentwood defeated Union 81-61.
2A: Foss defeated Selah 83-73
1A: Zillah 69, Freeman 53: Nate Whitaker scored 25 points and Zillah the Leopards defeated the Scotties to capture the Class 1A boys state title in Yakima.
2B: Kittitas defeated Liberty 72-69.
1B: Sunnyside Christian 47, Lummi Nation 40: Lucas Dykstra scored 13 points as Sunnyside Christian beat Lummi Nation to win the championship.
4A: Kentridge 60, Glacier 46: JaQuaya Miller scored 27 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, Jordan Jenkins finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds and Kentridge beat Glacier Peak in the championship game at the Tacoma Dome.
The Chargers entered the final quarter with a two-point lead but used a 16-3 run to extend their lead to as many as 16 before holding on.
Coming into the season, neither team had ever placed at the State Tournament.
3A: Mercer Island 51, Bishop Blanchet 47: Anna Luce scored 17 of her game-high 21 points in the second half to lead the Islanders over the Braves in Tacoma.
2A: Lynden 44, Burlington-Edison 36: Unlike last year’s second place finish, Lynden sealed the championship with a victory over Burlington-Edison in Yakima. Lynden was led by senior standout guard Elisa Kooiman who scored 14 points with 12 rebounds.
1A: Mount Baker 45, Cashmere 44: sisters Jessica and Stephanie Soares combined for 19 points and 22 rebounds, and the Mountaineers won their first Class 1A state title, defeating the Bulldogs in Yakima.
2B: Davenport 56, Kalama 37: Sydney Abbott scored 17 points to lead the Gorillas to the state championship.
1B: Republic 51, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 29: Shania Graham scored 23 points, and the Tigers defeated the Warriors at the Arena.
