Spokane County home sales experience slight drop during February

The snowy month of February was also a slightly sluggish one for home sales in Spokane County.

Sales were down about 2 percent, the Spokane Association of Realtors reported Friday. During February, 335 homes were sold, compared to 342 sold in February 2016.

Prices, meanwhile, continue to rise. The average sales price was up 2.7 percent to $205,077, compared to $199,636 a year ago.

The median sales price was $185,000, an increase of 1.1 percent.

The inventory of homes for sale continues to be tight, which could put a damper on local residential real estate activity in 2017, Realtors have said.

About 1,100 homes were listed for sale in Spokane County in February. The number is down about 35 percent from February 2016.
