Bri King breaks CCS record with 46 points in NWAC Tournament quarterfinal win over Bellevue

Bri King scored 46 points to break the CC Spokane record and the Sasquatch defeated Bellevue 76-62 on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the NWAC Tournament in Everett.

King’s 46 points and 20 for one quarter _ the pivotal third period _ are tournament records.

CCS (25-4) will take on Umpqua CC (29-2) in a semifinal on Saturday, also in Everett.

King, a 5-foot-4 sophomore out of North Central, was 16-of-29 shooting and 9 of 14 from 3-point range. She also made 5 of 6 free throws.

The Sasquatch led 32-29 before pulling away in the third quarter with King scoring 20 of the Sasquatch’s 28 points, including four 3-pointers, as CCS went up 60-46.

Katlyn Ward (Priest River) grabbed 10 rebounds for CCS.

Bellevue finished 19-10.
