The big guys take center stage for Gonzaga’s first-round NCAA Tournament game against South Dakota State.

SDSU sophomore post Mike Daum is second nationally in scoring at 25.3 points per game, 13.4 more than second-leading scorer Reed Tellinghuisen. Daum leads the team with 77 3-pointers and his 41.6-percent accuracy is highest among the starters. He also leads the nation in free-throw attempts (287) and makes (250) and possesses a soft touch around the rim.

Daum can expect to see multiple defenders from the Zags, including Przemek Karnowski, Zach Collins and Johnathan Williams. Gonzaga’s goal is to make Daum work for his points while limiting open 3-point looks for his teammates. SDSU set a school record with 313 3-pointers.
