Bri King and CC Spokane women fight past Umpqua, reach NWC final

Bri King had an off night but still led the Sasquatch with 16 points and CC Spokane beat Umpqua 63-58 on Saturday in a Northwest Athletic Conference semifinal at Everett Community College.

CCS (26-4) will face Walla Walla (24-4), which beat Skagit Valley (24-7) 67-63 in the other semi, in the championship game on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Everett. CCS was first in the East Region while Walla Walla finished second. The teams split their season series.

King was 6 of 18 overall but an uncharacteristic 2 of 11 from beyond the arc. She grabbed six rebounds and pulled off six of the Sasquatch’s 12 steals.

Katlyn Ward added 14 points and Cali Moscrip had 11 for Spokane, which shot 32 percent overall and 7 of 27 on 3-pointers.

Jordan Stotler paced the Riverhawks (29-3) with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 11 blocked shots.
