Gonzaga University student reportedly victim of voyeur; school declines to release information

Gonzaga University is investigating a report that someone took a photo of a student who was taking a shower Monday morning, but is refusing to release details.

A brief statement from Scott Snider, director of Campus Security and Public Safety, called the incident an “extreme and deplorable” invasion of privacy. The unidentified person who took the photo ran away and could not be located, Snider said.

University spokeswoman Mary Joan Hahn said the school will not release the gender of the student photographed in the shower or in what building the incident took place.

“We’re committed to maintaining the anonymity of the victim,” she said.
