Arrest made in 2015 rape in parking lot of downtown Spokane bar

A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman in the parking lot of a downtown Spokane bar in 2015.

A $100,000 warrant was issued for the arrest of Ronald R. Salazar, 40, for second-degree rape on March 25, 2016. He was arrested Wednesday.

The victim told police that she and her boyfriend, who were in town on business, had dinner the night of July 18, 2015, and then went to the Globe Bar at 204 N. Division St., according to court documents. The couple argued, and the woman told police that she was intoxicated when she left the bar alone late at night, planning to walk back to the Holiday Inn Express on North Division where the couple were staying.

She told police that two Hispanic men were in the parking lot, and one raped her while the other stood watch, court documents state.

The Washington State Crime Lab identified Salazar’s DNA from the attack and the victim identified him in a photo lineup, according to court documents.
