Post Falls man sought for involvement in mail theft ring with 400 victims

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man believed to have led a large mail and package theft ring that involved 400 victims.

Post Falls resident David T. Perry, 34, has been charged with 65 counts of felony grand theft and one charge of theft of a firearm. A warrant has been issued for his arrest and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (208) 446-1300.

Perry, a convicted felon, has a history of drug, theft and probation violation convictions.

The theft of mail and packages began in Kootenai County in November. The estimated value of the stolen checks, which were cashed, and stolen packages is $50,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation into the theft ring has already led to the arrests of several other people and more arrests are possible. Those already arrested are Nathanial J. Taylor, Justin A. Kretchmar, Marcus S. Hawkins and Kellie E. Mann.
