Glass will be accepted for recycling in Coeur d’Alene at two drop-off locations

The city of Coeur d’Alene will begin accepting glass for recycling at two locations beginning Saturday.

Glass can be dropped off at drop boxes at the parking lots in Cherry Hill Park, 1525 E. Hazel Ave., and Bluegrass Park, 6056 N. Courcelles Parkway.

Clear and colored glass bottles and jars will be accepted. Mirrors, windows, dishes, fish tanks and light bulbs cannot be accepted. Lids and caps should be removed.

Glass is not accepted through the city’s curbside recycling program.

Glass from the drop off collection program will be hauled to a crusher. The crushed glass will be used as a soil amendment or any other practical and affordable reuses.

For more information, contact Coeur d’Alene Garbage at (208) 457-1820.
