Spokane County median home price rises to $201,900, number of sales drops

The number of homes sold in Spokane County dropped 10 percent in March compared to a year ago, but prices continued to rise.

The Spokane Association of Realtors reported sales of 525 condos and single-family homes on less than one acre during March, compared to 586 sales in March 2016.

The average sales price was up 9.1 percent to $224,351, compared to $205,726 a year ago.

The median sales price was $201,900, an increase of 5.8 percent.

The inventory of homes for sale continues to be tight, which could put a damper on local residential real estate activity in 2017, Realtors have said.

About 1,457 homes were listed for sale in Spokane County in March. The number is down about 25 percent from March 2016.
