SAN JOSE, Calif. – Chris Wondolowski scored two goals, reaching 125 for his career, and San Jose smothered Portland 3-0 on Saturday night.

David Bingham made four saves in blanking the Timbers, who had a league-leading 20 goals coming into the game. It was Bingham’s fourth shutout, giving him 24 in his career.

Florian Jungwirth assisted on both of Wondolowski’s goals. The first came in the 31st minute when Jungwirth put the ball on Wondolowski’s foot at the top of the box and he turned around and bent the ball around goalkeeper Jeff Attinella for his third goal of the season. Wondolowski took a feed from Jungwirth in the 55th minute and beat Attinella from a sharp angle for his 10th career goal against the Timbers.

Jahmir Hyka also scored for San Jose (4-3-3). Portland is 5-3-2.

FC Dallas 3, Real 0

SANDY, Utah – Maximiliano Urruti scored two goals and 21-year-old Jesse Gonzales had his fourth shutout of the season in FC Dallas’ victory over Real Salt Lake.

FC Dallas (5-0-3) moved into a tie with Sporting Kansas City atop the Western Conference standings and is unbeaten in its last 13 regular-season MLS games, dating to Sept. 10, 2016.

Gonzalez, a 6-foot-4 homegrown, tied his career high with six saves.

Urruti converted from the spot in the third minute after Demar Phillips was called for a handball near the endline. Matt Hedges made it 2-0 in the 67th, and Urruti added another goal – his seventh of the season – in the first minute of stoppage time.

Real Salt Lake (2-6-2) has lost three in a row.

Toronto FC 1, Sounders 0

SEATTLE – Jozy Altidore earned and scored on a penalty kick early in the first half, and short-handed Toronto FC beat the Seattle Sounders 1-0 on Saturday in a rematch of last year’s MLS Cup final.

Altidore was the best player on the field with his side playing without star Sebastian Giovinco, and starters Victor Vazquez and Eriq Zavaleta. Even though Seattle dominated possession, Altidore and Toronto (5-1-4) had the best chances at goal and earned a minor bit of payback for last year’s cup final.

Altidore’s goal came in the 23rd minute after he was chopped down from behind by Seattle defender Roman Torres in the penalty box. Altidore calmly put his shot into the right corner of the net as Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei went the opposite direction.

Seattle (2-3-4) had a 14-game home unbeaten end. Toronto won its fourth straight match, including a dominant midweek victory over Orlando City at home when Giovinco scored twice.

Dynamo 4, Orlando City 0

HOUSTON – Mauro Manotas had two goals and an assist in the second half to help Houston beat MLS-leading Orlando City.

Manotas took a cross from Alex in the 51st minute and blasted a shot through goalkeeper Joe Bendik’s arms. He picked up his third goal of the season in the 65th minute, capping a 2-on-1 counter attack with Romell Quioto with a shot that went in off the post.

Ten minutes later, Manotas had a long serve forward to Quioto, who curled a high shot from the top of the box into the corner for his fourth goal.

Houston (5-3-1) led 1-0 at halftime on Alberth Ellis’ fourth goal.

The Dynamo are 5-0-1 at home with 17 goals. Joe Willis made four saves for his second shutout.

Orlando City dropped to 6-3-0.

Galaxy 2, Fire 2, tie

CARSON, Calif. – Giovani dos Santos and Daniel Steres scored second-half goals and Los Angeles rallied to tie Chicago.

Brian Rowe had four saves, including a pair of sprawling stops in the opening minutes and another in the 76th minute, for Los Angeles (2-5-2).

Dos Santos tied it in the 65th – tapping in the finish of Dave Romney’s header, off a corner kick by Romain Alessandrini – from point-blank range.

David Accam gave Chicago (3-3-3) a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute, converting from the spot after Nemanja Nikolic drew a penalty against Jelle Van Damme at the top of the 6-yard box. Nikolic doubled the lead moments later, rolling a feed from Accam past a charging Rowe into the back of the net.

Steres, from near the right corner of the 6-yard box, flicked a header – off another corner kick by Alessandrini – inside the far post to make it 2-1 early in the second half.

Union 3, Red Bulls 0

CHESTER, Pa. – C.J. Sapong scored three times in 11 minutes late in the second half to help Philadelphia win for the first time this season.

Sapong scored in the 71st, 81st and 85th minutes, completing his first hat trick on a penalty kick.

Andre Blake made four saves for the Union (1-4-4) for his third shutout.

The Red Bulls (5-5-1) outshot Philadelphia 14-11, but the Union had a 6-4 advantage in shots on target.

Impact 1, D.C. United 0

WASHINGTON – Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla scored in the 13th minute and Montreal held on to beat D.C. for its first road victory.

Tabla accepted a feed from Adrian Arregui midway between the circles, eluded a defenseman and dribbled down the middle to the top of the box. He took a step to his right before sending a hard roller back to his left, just past diving keeper Travis Worra for his second goal.

The win was the first in six regular-season visits to D.C. for Montreal (2-3-4). D.C. (3-4-2) had lost only one of his previous 13 regular-season games at home.

Crew 2, Revolution 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ola Kamara had a goal and an assist and Zack Steffen made five saves for his third shutout, leading Columbus past New England.

Kamara opened the scoring with his sixth goal in the 13th minute. He took the ball down the left side on a feed from Justin Meram, stepped right and curled the ball just inside the far post.

Kamara’s patience that led to Federico Higuain’s third goal in the 53rd minute.

Columbus improved to 5-4-1, and New England dropped to 2-4-4.
