Man who drowned in the Moyie River identified as Spokane resident

The man who drowned in the Moyie River in North Idaho after falling in and being swept away has been identified as Spokane resident James Harston.

Someone reported seeing a person floating face down in the river near the Meadow Creek Campground Monday. A witness said the man was on a raft when he fell in the water near Meadow Creek, and he couldn’t be reached because of the fast current, according to the Boundary County Emergency Management office.

Harston was wearing a wetsuit and a life jacket when he was found near the Moyie Dam.
