Recaps for the Seattle Mariners top affiliates for Thursday night provided by team releases and wire reports.

Tacoma (AAA) 8, Round Rock 2

TACOMA, Wash. – Steve Baron homered, doubled and singled, scoring three runs as the Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Round Rock Express 8-2 on Thursday.

Mike Zunino homered and singled for Tacoma.

Up 3-2, the Rainiers added to their lead in the fourth inning when Seth Mejias-Brean and Zunino hit back-to-back three-run and solo home runs.

Steve Cishek (1-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Round Rock starter Eddie Gamboa (2-3) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.

For the Express, Jurickson Profar homered and singled.

Arkansas (AA)

The first of a four-game series against the Springfield Cardinals was rained out. The teams play a twi-night doubleheader on Friday starting at 5:10 p.m.

Lancaster 6, Modesto (High-A) 0

LANCASTER, Calif. – Brendan Rodgers doubled and singled, and Jesus Tinoco allowed just one hit over seven innings as the Lancaster JetHawks (16-18) topped the Modesto Nuts (20-14) 6-0 on Thursday.

Tinoco (1-0) picked up the win after he struck out four.

Lancaster started the scoring in the first inning when Garrett Hampson scored on a forceout and Yonathan Daza hit an RBI single.

The JetHawks later added one run in the fourth, two in the fifth, and one in the eighth to finish off the shutout.

Nathan Bannister (2-2) went 4 1/3 innings, allowing five runs and nine hits in the California League game. He also struck out four and walked three.

The Nuts were held off the scoreboard for the first time this season, while the JetHawks’ staff recorded their third shutout of the year.

Despite the loss, Modesto is 4-2 against Lancaster this season.

Great Lakes 7, Clinton (Low-A) 3

CLINTON, Iowa – Gavin Lux had four hits as the Great Lakes Loons (16-18) beat the Clinton LumberKings (11-20) 7-3 on Thursday.

Great Lakes went up 4-0 in the fourth after Gage Green hit an RBI single, scoring Oneil Cruz as part of a three-run inning.

The Loons later added two runs in the sixth and one in the eighth. In the sixth, Brendon Davis hit a two-run single before he hit a sacrifice fly to score Saige Jenco in the eighth.

Clinton missed an additional scoring opportunity in the sixth, when Kristian Brito flew out with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Great Lakes left-hander Devin Smeltzer (2-1) picked up the win after allowing two runs on just three hits over 5 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Ljay Newsome (4-2) took the loss in the Midwest League game after giving up four runs and seven hits over four innings.
