Prep softball roundup: Mt. Spokane tops Southridge in 3A regional semifinal

Mt. Spokane 10, Southridge 0: Jesse Dupuis tossed a two-hit shutout and the top-seeded Wildcats (17-4) handled the visiting Suns (6-13) in a 3A Greater Spokane League/Mid-Columbia Conference bi-district regional semifinal game on Friday.

Dupuis struck out 10 and allowed just a pair of singles over five innings. Hannah Bell sparked the offense with a triple, two doubles and three RBIs. Kyla Stern and Makenzie Funk added three hits apiece.

Mt. Spokane advances to face Shadle Park in the regional title game on Wednesday.

Southridge plays Kamiakin in a loser-out game on Wednesday. The winner then faces the MtS/SP loser for the second berth to a crossover game.

Earlier in the day, Southridge eliminated Rogers 1-0 in a loser-out game at Mt. Spokane.

Shadle Park 3, Kamiakin 1: Jaya Allen struck out 11 and scattered three hits in a complete game and the visiting Highlanders (18-3) got past the Braves (13-6) in a 3A Greater Spokane League/Mid-Columbia Conference bi-district regional semifinal game.

Shadle’s Kaitlyn Scoble had a pair of singles, while Macy Christianson homered for the Braves.

Shadle Park knocked off Kennewick 15-0 earlier in the day in a loser-out game at Kamiakin. Allen struck out 11 in a one-hit shutout. Scoble and Allen had three hits apiece.

District 7 1A

Deer Park 15, Freeman 5: Courtney Butler recorded three doubles as the host Stags (13-7) eliminated the Scotties (5-12).

Morgan Erickson and Oliveah Erickson both went deep for Deer Park, which plays Colville in the next round on Saturday.

Chewelah 12, Medical Lake 8: Bailey Smith had two hits and scored three runs as the Cougars (15-4) bounced the visiting Cardinals (8-9).

Jaelynn Skok added three hits for Chewelah, which plays Lakeside on Saturday.

Suzanne Shores homered and doubled for Medical Lake.

1B Regional

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 13, Pomeroy 3: Sarah Bradshaw tossed a three-hitter and also tripled to help the Warriors (19-3) beat the Pirates (13-9) in a 1B regional semifinal game at Waterfront Park in Medical Lake.

ACH scored in every inning and racked up 12 hits. The Warriors advance to play in the district championship game on May 19 or 20.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 9, Selkirk 5: The Warriors sent the Rangers (11-8) into the loser-out side of the bracket earlier in the day in a first round game. Kami stone went 3 for 3. ACH scored twice in the sixth and pounded out 15 hits.

Pomeroy 8, Sunnyside Christian 7: Heidi Heytvelt and Emma Severs both tripled to help Pomeroy outlast Sunnyside Christian 8-7 in a 1B regional first round game.
