Coeur d’Alene man reported missing while mushroom hunting

A Coeur d’Alene man who went into the woods to pick mushrooms Thursday has been reported missing by his family.

Mark K. Arnold, 54, is believed to be in the area of Lavern Saddle in the Coeur d’Alene National Forest. He told a family member he was going to pick mushrooms but hasn’t been heard from since Thursday afternoon, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

He is 5’ 9” tall and 165 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be driving a maroon 2003 Mazda B4000 pickup with Idaho license plates K499647.

The Kootenai and Shoshone County sheriff’s offices are searching for Arnold with help from Two Bear Air. Anyone who has information about Arnold’s location is asked to call the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 446-1300 or the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 556-1114.
