Recaps for the Seattle Mariners top affiliates for Wednesday provided by team releases and wire reports.

Omaha 4, Tacoma (AAA) 2

PAPILLION, Neb. – Eric Skoglund tossed a three-hit complete game and Raul Mondesi homered and had two hits, driving in three, as the Omaha Storm Chasers (19-18) topped the Tacoma Rainiers (24-13) 4-2 on Wednesday.

Skoglund (2-3) picked up the win after he struck out four and walked two while allowing two runs.

Tacoma took a 2-1 lead in the third after Danny Muno and Leonys Martin hit back-to-back solo home runs.

After tying the game in the third, the Storm Chasers took the lead for good in the fifth inning when Mondesi doubled to bring home Parker Morin and Terrance Gore.

Dean Kiekhefer (0-1) went one inning, allowing two runs and three hits while striking out one in the Pacific Coast League game.

NW Arkansas 4, Arkansas (AA) 1

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Ruben Sosa tripled and singled as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (21-16) defeated the Arkansas Travelers (14-24) 4-1 on Wednesday.

NW Arkansas started the scoring with a big second inning, when it put up four runs, including a two-run double by Donald Dewees Jr..

Following the big inning, the Travelers cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Marcus Littlewood scored on a forceout.

NW Arkansas southpaw Emilio Ogando (2-1) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on six hits over six innings. Opposing starter Dylan Unsworth (1-4) took the loss in the Texas League game after allowing four runs and six hits over six innings. Sam Selman pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings for his second save of the season.

With the win, NW Arkansas remains undefeated (7-0) against Arkansas this season.

Lancaster 9, Modesto (High-A) 5

MODESTO, Calif. – Yonathan Daza hit a two-run single in the fifth inning, leading the Lancaster JetHawks (22-18) to a 9-5 win over the Modesto Nuts (22-18) on Wednesday.

The single by Daza started the scoring in a six-run inning and gave the JetHawks a 5-3 lead. Later in the inning, Roberto Ramos and Hamlet Marte hit two-run singles.

In the bottom of the eighth, Modesto cut into the lead on a home run by Logan Taylor that scored Joey Curletta.

Modesto missed a scoring opportunity in the seventh, when Eric Filia flew out with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Wes Rogers doubled and singled, scoring two runs for Lancaster.

Lancaster right-hander Craig Schlitter (6-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Pablo Lopez (2-4) took the loss in the California League game after a rough outing in which he allowed eight runs and eight hits over 4 2/3 innings.

Wisconsin 2, Clinton (Low-A) 1

APPLETON, Wis. – Thomas Jankins allowed just four hits over 7 2/3 innings, leading the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers over the Clinton LumberKings in a 2-1 win on Wednesday.

Clinton had a runner on first in the top of the ninth, but a runner was thrown out to end the game as Daniel Brown earned his fourth save of the season.

Jankins (2-2) allowed one run while striking out five and walking two to get the win.

Clinton got on the board first in the fourth inning, scoring on a solo home run by Nick Zammarelli.

The Timber Rattlers tied the game in the fifth inning when Trever Morrison hit a solo home run.

The Timber Rattlers took the lead for good in the sixth when Tucker Neuhaus hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Demi Orimoloye.

Ljay Newsome (4-3) went 5 2/3 innings, allowing two runs and five hits in the Midwest League game. He also struck out four and walked one.

Despite the loss, Clinton is 4-2 against Wisconsin this season.
