At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night the Gonzaga Bulldogs and No. 18 BYU Cougars will play for the West Coast Conference baseball championship in Spokane’s Patterson Baseball Complex & Washington Trust Field.

In order to defend its regular season title, GU (30-17, 19-7 WCC) needs to complete a three-game sweep over league-leading BYU (33-17, 20-6). The Zags entered this weekend in a tie for third-place with Loyola Marymount, but have almost caught up to the Cougars by beating them 10-2 and 10-4 at.

With a third win, GU would be co-champions alongside BYU, but would earn the No. 1 overall seed during next week’s WCC Championships in Stockton, California.
