Idaho state softball roundup: Bonners Ferry beats Timberlake in 3A title game

Sydney Watt hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and Bonners Ferry (9-2) beat Timberlake (17-3) 7-3 in the Idaho State 3A championship game at Buhl HS.

The Badgers used a four-run rally in the fifth to seize control.

Maddy Salois hit a two-run homer for Timberlake in the top of the fifth.

Watt hit a two-run home run and Bonners Ferry beat Timberlake 11-0 in a semifinal game earlier in the day, then Timberlake knocked off Filer – for the second time in the tournament – 8-6 to advance to the championship. Filer finished in third place.


Middleton 6, Sandpoint 3: The Vikings beat the Bulldogs (10-5) in a State 4A semifinal game at Post Falls HS.

Sandpoint finished in third place in the tournament. Middleton went on to beat Ridgevue for the state championship.

Earlier in the day, Sandpoint fell to Ridgevue 8-2 in a semifinal game.


New Plymouth 8, Orofino 5: The Pilgrims (21-6) beat the Maniacs (13-6) in the State 2A title game at Orofino HS.

Orofino eliminated Melba 7-1 and Malad 7-5 earlier in the day to reach the title game.
