State prep baseball roundup: Freeman beats Connell, advances to 1A semifinal
Desmond Parisotto allowed four hits and struck out five in a complete game and Freeman (21-2) beat Connell (13-9) 9-0 in a State 1A quarterfinal game at Larson Field in Moses Lake.
Konner Freudenthal went 2 for 3 with a three-run double in the seventh inning. McKabe Cottrell went 2 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs.
Freeman advances to a state semifinal against Cedar Park Christian on Friday at Yakima County Stadium.
In an earlier game, Freeman eliminated Naches Valley 2-1 in a State 1A first-round game in Moses Lake. McKabe Cottrell hit a walk-off home run in the 10th inning and struck out 13 over eight innings. Simon Rooney relieved Cottrell in the ninth inning and pitched two innings, allowing a single hit.

Earlier in the day, Cheney beat Olympic 10-0 in a State 2A first-round game in Ephrata.

Colfax 14, Brewster 4: Parker Huber pitched a complete-game four-hitter and the Bulldogs (19-1) beat the Bears (20-6) in a State 2B quarterfinal game at Ferris HS.
Colfax generated 14 base hits on the day, including a pair of triples. The Bulldogs advance to play Wahkiakum (14-6-1) in a state semifinal game on Friday at Wheeler Field in Centralia.
Danny Robinson pitched a complete-game five-hitter and Colfax eliminated Liberty Bell 12-2 in a first-round game earlier in the day.
Tri-Cities Prep 3, Asotin 2: The Jaguars (24-0) beat the Panthers (15-7) in a State 2B quarterfinal game at Pete Orgill Field in Yakima.
Asotin knocked out Kittitas 4-1 in a first-round game earlier in the day.
Brewster 8, Northwest Christian 2: The Bears eliminated the Crusaders (12-7) in a State 2B first-round game at Ferris HS.
Wahkiakum 12, Kettle Falls 2: The Mules eliminated the Bulldogs (15-5) in a State 2B first-round game at Volunteer Park in Anacortes.

Pomeroy 5, Odessa-Harrington 1: Jace Winn threw a complete-game two-hitter and the Pirates (18-1) eliminated the Titans (14-5) in a State 1B semifinal at Borleske Stadium in Walla Walla.
Pomeroy faces Almira/Coulee-Hartline in the championship game on Saturday at Wheeler Field in Centralia.
Kade Gingerich went 3 for 4 and fell a home run short of the cycle and Pomeroy beat Sunnyside Christian 14-0 while Odessa-Harrington knocked out Colton 3-2 in state quarterfinal games earlier in the day.
Almira/Coulee-Hartline 10, Naselle 3: The Warriors (20-0) beat the Comets (11-4) in a State 1B semifinal at WF West HS in Chehalis.
ACH eliminated Evergreen Lutheran 3-1 in a state quarterfinal earlier in the day.
