Education

The National Academic Advising Association announced that Robin Bond, assistant dean at Washington State University’s Honors College, won an Outstanding Advising Award in the faculty advisor category. The award is for individuals who teach but also spend time offering academic advising; the criteria includes student success, frequency of contact with advisees and program development. Bond has been an academic advisor for the Honors College since 2007.

Engineering

STRATA has promoted Paxton Anderson to northern region manager, overseeing the company’s offices in Spokane, Richland, Coeur d’Alene and Missoula. Anderson was area manager of the Salt Lake City office, where, along with the Utah Transit Authority, he managed and lead STRATA to help open two light rail lines simultaneously, ahead of schedule and under budget. He transferred to the Spokane office in 2014.

Health care

For the fourth consecutive year, Pullman Regional Hospital has been named a recipient of the Women’s Choice Award as one of the 100 best hospitals for patient experience of hospitals across the country of similar size. The award is given based upon evaluation of Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey results combined with research about women’s health care preferences.

Hospitality

Moscow’s Best Western Plus University Inn has received the Champion Green Award, given to properties using sustainable practices as well as meeting quality and service standards. The hotel was one of 87 hotels out of the 2,100 properties Best Western owns in Canada and the U.S. to earn the distinction.

Insurance

Moloney + O’Neill have promoted Matthew Maynard to lead their commercial lines internal service unit. Maynard has worked six years in the insurance community and previously was with Liberty Mutual.

Miscellaneous

Glyph Language Services have announced Viktoriya Reed as president and CEO and Corianton Alcorn as CCO. Reed has been with Glyph for five years and has worked to align the company’s ability to optimize client needs. She has been the company’s director of production since 2014. Alcorn becomes Glyph’s first CCO and will focus on client satisfaction and deepening client relations. Alcorn began in the analysis team and since 2014 has been the company’s global vice president of sales.

Real Estate

Windermere’s Spokane offices have announced the hire of four brokers. Alyssa Curnutt has been hired as a broker in Windermere’s north Spokane office. Curnutt most recently worked as a producer and editor at North by Northwest. Corrie Jo Anderson has also been hired as a broker for the North Spokane office. She most recently owned Provider Coaching and worked as a consultant. The north Spokane office also announced the hire of broker Diane Bertsch, who previously owned Diane’s Salon in Spokane. Windermere’s Valley/Liberty Lake office has hired broker Brenda McKinley, who previously worked for Keller Williams in Anchorage, Alaska.

Dean Stuart has been named vice president of Crown West Realty in Spokane as well as general manager of the Spokane Business and Industrial Park. In addition to overseeing over 6 million square feet of industrial properties, Stuart manages design and development for Crown West and oversees their marketing. He joined Crown West in 2000. Oliver Lawrence has been named the new asset and development manager of Crown West’s northwest division, where he will be responsible for asset, construction and capital project management as well as managing property and tenant relations for industrial, commercial and office properties. He has been with the company since 2002. Chase Breckner will oversee the Spokane Business and Industrial Park as its leasing manager. He has been with Crown West since 2004.
