Arrest made in deadly fire that killed Ohio family of 7

AKRON, Ohio – Last week’s deadly fire that killed an Akron family of seven has been ruled to be arson, officials announced Tuesday afternoon during a press conference at the Akron Police Department.

Stanley O. Ford, a neighbor of the family, has been arrested and charged with one count of aggravated arson and seven counts of aggravated murder, according to authorities.

Ford, 58, of Hillcrest Street, will be arraigned Wednesday in Akron Municipal Court. He has had no previous criminal charges in Akron Municipal Court or Summit County Common Pleas Court.

Dennis Huggins, 35, and Angela Boggs, 38, died in the blaze early May 15 along with their five children: Cameron Huggins, 1, Alivia Huggins, 3, Kyle Huggins, 5, Daisia Huggins, 6, and Jared Boggs, 14.
