Rick Hosmer, the chief marketing officer and co-founder of Klündt | Hosmer, has been named the American Advertising Federation Spokane Advertising Professional of the Year. Hosmer founded the firm in 1987 after graduating from Spokane Falls Community College and working at KAYU-TV.

Banking

Mountain West Bank has announced the hiring of Mike Brunett as a commercial lender. Brunett, who will work at the bank’s Spokane Valley financial center, has 13 year’s experience in the banking industry and has served in the Marines and the Army National Guard.

Dental

Through the Give Kids A Smile program, 274 dentists in Idaho donated over $200,000 worth of services to 974 children ages 3 to 18. Dentists offered cleanings, X-rays, fillings, extractions and educational materials on good dental hygiene. The Idaho State Dental Association encourages the state’s dentists to participate as a means for children to find a dentist and to learn routine dental care.

Healthcare

Dr. Ryan Baker has been hired by Shriners Hospital for Children as a full-time pediatrician. Baker will work as a pediatrician as well as run a pediatric sports medicine clinic at Shriners. He is the hospital’s second full-time pediatrician.

Hospitality

The Coeur d’Alene Resort has announced three new additions to its food and beverage team. Jordan Root has been hired as assistant manager of Beverly’s. He relocated to Coeur d’Alene from Vail, Colorado, where he worked as the assistant general manager and sommelier at The Vail Chophouse. Greg Nehlich has been hired as a sous chef at Beverly’s. He has also worked at Black Rock Country Club and at the Red Rock Casino and Prime Steak House in the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Michelle Wood has been hired as an assistant manager at the Dockside restaurant. She comes to the Dockside from Vail, Colorado.

Miscellaneous

Dominick Como, Amanda Reinhardt and John Thiele have been elected to the Harrison Chamber of Commerce. Thiele is the owner of Harrison Creamery and Fudge Factory and will serve as president. Como, an IT specialist, has been elected as treasurer and Reinhardt, a Realtor, is the board’s new marketing director. They join Vice President Whitney Hruza and Secretary Amanda Hall on the board.

Real Estate

Jeff Johnson, president at Black Commercial Inc. was recently elected as member at large for the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors’ Board of Directors. SIOR is a global organization that certifies commercial real estate providers. Black Commercial Inc. is the brokerage division of NAI Black, one of the larger commercial real estate companies in Spokane. Johnson has worked in real estate since 1975.

Matt Walsh has been promoted to assistant commercial property manager for Black Realty Management Inc. Walsh will work on growing his commercial property portfolio as well as helping Black Realty’s principal manage larger commercial properties and shopping centers.

Eric Pettit is now an assistant multifamily property manager with Black Realty Management Inc. He came to Spokane from Texas in 2013 and specializes in land sales and assessing the physical needs of properties.

Retirement

Dave Cox has been named new executive director at Touchmark on South Hill, a retirement community with over 350 residents and 275 staff members. Cox’s experience also includes time as CEO of Rehabilitation Hospital of the Northwest in Post Falls and directer of outpatient services and the Pain Management Program at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute.
