The Grant County Coroner has identified the three people killed in last week’s van rollover crash as Othello residents Arturo Galvez-Vazquez, 48; Aaron Medel-Alvarez, 49; and Tabita Pricilla Soto-Luis, 56.

The three were among 11 people in a Chevrolet van that was going north on Adams Road South when it was hit by a Nissan Armada going east on Frenchman Hills Road driven by Quincy resident Ma Guadalupe Grimaldo Vasquez, 51. Investigators determined that the Nissan failed to yield to the van, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the van, Cristobal Lopez, was wearing a seat belt but none of his passengers were. Several were ejected when the van rolled. All the surviving van passengers were injured, as was the driver of the Nissan.

The investigation is continuing and no criminal charges have yet been filed.
