Recaps for the Seattle Mariners top affiliates for Tuesday provided by team releases and wire reports.

Tacoma (AAA) 4, Salt Lake 0

SALT LAKE CITY – D.J. Peterson hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning, leading the Tacoma Rainiers (31-20) to a 4-0 win over the Salt Lake Bees (28-25) on Tuesday.

The home run by Peterson scored Tyler O’Neill and Danny Muno to give the Rainiers a 3-0 lead.

The Rainiers tacked on another run in the fifth when Tyler Smith hit an RBI double, bringing home Steve Baron.

Tacoma starter Andrew Moore (2-0) picked up the win after allowing four hits over eight scoreless innings. Opposing starter Daniel Wright (2-2) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after he allowed four runs on just three hits over 4 2/3 innings.

For the Bees, Kaleb Cowart doubled twice and singled. Salt Lake was held off the scoreboard for the fourth time this season, while the Tacoma staff recorded its eighth shutout of the year.

Arkansas (AA) 8, Midland 5

MIDLAND, Texas – Chuck Taylor had three hits and two RBI as the Arkansas Travelers (23-27) defeated the Midland RockHounds (26-25) 8-5 on Tuesday.

Midland had runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth, but Tyler Marincov flew out to end the game.

Arkansas started the scoring in the second inning when Taylor hit a two-run double and then scored on a single by Dario Pizzano.

Trailing 5-2, the RockHounds cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Max Schrock hit an RBI single, driving in Yairo Munoz.

The Travelers later tacked on three runs in the sixth when Pizzano hit an RBI single and then scored on a two-run double by Kyle Waldrop to secure the victory.

Arkansas right-hander Tyler Herb (3-2) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings. Opposing starter Grant Holmes (3-5) took the loss in the Texas League game after a rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and 10 hits over 5 1/3 innings.

The five extra-base hits for Arkansas included a season-high five doubles.

Schrock doubled and singled three times, driving in two runs for the RockHounds. Munoz doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs.

Modesto (High-A)

The Nuts were off on Tuesday. Modesto starts a road series against the Inland Empire on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.

Clinton (Low-A)

BELOIT, Wis. – Eric Marinez hit a walk-off two-run single with one out in the ninth inning, as the Beloit Snappers defeated the Clinton LumberKings 8-7 on Tuesday.

After Clinton’s Yojhan Quevedo hit an RBI single in the top of the eighth, Beloit cut the deficit to 7-6 in the bottom of the inning when Nate Mondou hit an RBI single, scoring Luis Barrera.

Reliever Yordys Alejo (2-1) went 1 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out three to get the win. Michael Koval (0-3) went 1 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and three hits in the Midwest League game. He also struck out one and walked three.

Mondou doubled and singled twice, also stealing a base in the win.

The LumberKings squandered some scoring chances, leaving 12 runners on base in the loss. Joe Rizzo homered and singled for the LumberKings.
