What is self-defense?

I, too, am concerned about the vigilante justice that we are supporting here in Spokane. When is it not okay to shoot someone in the back? What is self-defense? Somehow I thought it was imminent danger, but then a Spokane jury also found innocent a man who shot a drunk through a screen door. I still cannot understand why that man did not close the door and call the police.

Why didn’t Mr. Bushnell let Mr. Poindexter go and let the police deal with him? I will never understand how we value some lives so very little!
