Community can weigh in on Mission Avenue project at public meeting

From local reports

Spokane Valley city staff will hold a public meeting Wednesday to inform the community about the East Mission Avenue project.

The meeting will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Greenacres Christian Church, 18010 E. Mission Ave.

City staff will give a presentation at 6 p.m. covering roadway and sidewalk designs; stormwater drainage improvements; landscaping design options; power pole relocations; and safety improvements on a stretch of Mission from Flora to Barker roads.

The staff will be available to answer questions.

The estimated cost of the project, including engineering, right-of-way acquisition, design and construction, is $4.3 million, according to Carolbelle Branch, Spokane Valley spokesman. Construction may begin next spring.
