Volleyball roundup: Shadle Park and Rogers swept out of 3A postseason race

Southridge 3, Shadle Park 0: Jillian Groves had 20 assists for the visiting Highlanders, who were swept by the Suns (25-21, 25-15, 25-11) in a District 8 3A consolation loser-out match on Thursday. Southridge will face Kennewick in a loser-out on Saturday.

Kennewick 3, Rogers 0: Breanna Shaffer, the Mid-Columbia Conference player of the year, had 17 kills and the Lions swept the visiting Pirates (25-10, 25-17, 25-16) in a District 8 3A consolation loser-out match.

Northeast 2B District

Colfax 3, Northwest Christian 1: Colfax topped Northwest Christian in four sets (25-7, 25-17, 20-25, 25-15) to win the Northeast 2B District Tournament. Both teams advanced to state.

Colfax knocked off Lind-Ritzville Sprague in three sets in a semifinal game earlier in the day, while NWC downed Liberty 3-1 in a semi to advance.

Liberty 3, St. George’s 0: Liberty swept St. George’s (25-15, 25-18, 25-14) and earned a berth to state in the Northeast 2B third-place game.

St. George’s beat LRS 3-2 in a loser-out to advance to the third-place game, while Liberty swept Wilbur-Creston in a loser-out.

District 7 1B Tournament

Selkirk 3, Odessa 1: Whitney Dawson had 15 kills, Jenna Couch dished out 25 assists and Selkirk beat Odessa in four sets (23-25, 25-16, 25-11, 25-19) in a semifinal matchup at Selkirk HS. Selkirk advanced to state for the first time in school history.

Selkirk will face Almira/Coulee-Hartline for the district title on Saturday and both teams advance to state. Odessa drops into the loser-out consolation bracket against Valley Christian.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 3, Republic 0: Ashley Mitchell collected 10 kills, three blocks and a pair of aces and Almira/Coulee-Hartline swept Republic (25-7, 25-13, 25-16) in a playoff match in Coulee City. Republic drops into the loser-out consolation bracket against Northport on Saturday.

Odessa 3, Northport 0: Maleah Davison tallied seven kills, four aces and four blocks and Odessa swept Northport (25-11, 25-14, 25-20) in a first round match at Selkirk HS.

Selkirk 3, Wellpinit 0: Whitney Dawson had 17 kills, Bree Dawson recorded five aces with five digs and Selkirk swept Wellpinit (25-18, 25-17, 25-11) in the first round at Selkirk HS.

Northport 3, Wellpinit 1: Ashtyn Baribault had eight kills with nine services aces and Northport beat Wellpinit in four sets (24-26, 26-24, 25-18, 25-22) in a consolation round loser-out match at Selkirk HS.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 3, Inchelium 0: Josie Pierce recorded 16 assists with a pair of aces and Almira/Coulee-Hartline swept Inchelium (25-22, 25-14, 25-7) in a first-round match in Coulee City.

Republic 3, Valley Christian 0: Carlie Rittel tallied 13 kills and four blocks and Republic swept Valley Christian (25-16, 25-13, 25-12) in a first-round match in Coulee City.

Valley Christian 3, Inchelium 2: Kendra Pope tallied 17 kills and a pair of aces and Valley Christian beat Inchelium 3-2 in a consolation loser-out match. Phoebe Trigsted collected 18 assists with four digs.
