Bonners Ferry woman dies in auto crash in Sandpoint

A Bonners Ferry woman was killed in a vehicle crash Friday on U.S. Highway 95 in Sandpoint, according to the Idaho State Police.

Susan L. Rogers, 74, was traveling northbound in a Volkswagen Beetle near milepost 478 around 1 p.m. when she lost control on the slick road and slid into the southbound lane, according to the ISP. Rogers was struck on the passenger side by 64-year-old William R. Lawson, of Spokane, who was driving a tractor-trailer.

Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
