Lookout Pass, 49 Degrees North opening Friday

Lookout Pass Ski Area led the pack of the region’s resorts to start its lifts for the season last weekend providing good snow for the opening.

Lookout Pass plans to reopen Friday through the weekend.

Lifts at 49 Degrees North also are scheduled to run Friday through Sunday to begin the season at the Chewelah-area resort.

Check resort websites for details on what lifts and runs will be open in the early season conditions. Decisions can be made at the last minute.

Silver Mountain is targeting Nov. 24 for its season opener.

Schweitzer Mountain Resort is scheduled to open on Dec. 1, but resort managers are telling skiers that snow is piling up and an earlier opening is possible.

Mt. Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park has set Nov. 17 as a tentative date for opening.

Mount Spokane State Park cross-country trails are not yet being groomed, but there’s enough snow for skiing on the trail system.

Sno-Park Passes will be required at trailhead parking areas starting Dec. 1. Until then, either a Sno-Park Pass or Discover Pass will cover the park’s vehicle access requirements.
