Elk hunting in Idaho

Those of you who enjoy hunting elk in the Idaho Panhandle National Forest near the Magee and Tepee Creek roadless areas should know Coeur d’Alene district ranger Dan Scaife will be making changes that might affect your hunting. As part of the proposed Potter’s Wheel timber sale, he plans to amend his forest plan that allows him to eliminate elk habitat security areas by logging more large trees than is allowed by his forest plan. He is currently accepting comments. Please call Ranger Scaife at (208) 664-2318 to request a copy of the scoping letter that describes the timber sale in more detail.
