Siimple anthem solution

Well, here we go again. The great divider decides it’s not enough to stir up the animus of the races against one another, the genders against one another, the religious against the non-religious and, of course, the haves against the have-nots, to name juts a few.

There is an easy way to blunt his attacks. Before 2009, the football teams stayed in the tunnels until after the national anthem was played. It would seem to be a no-brainer to institute this same policy again and thus avoid this fabricated brouhaha altogether.

I am a combat vet who served in Vietnam. I stand and place my hand over my heart during the playing of the colors. This is my choice under my purview of the First Amendment. Others may choose not to, that’s their choice. The freedom of speech has always been a double-edged blade that cuts both ways, like it or not. When you honor it, you honor the U.S. and its Constitution.
