UI President Chuck Staben up for New Mexico job

University of Idaho President Chuck Staben is one of five finalists for the president’s position at the University of New Mexico. He is scheduled to interview there Oct. 17.

UNM’s Board of Regents has chosen four other finalists for the position. They come from the University of California San Diego, the University of Missouri, Stony Brook University in New York, as well as the president and founder of The Micaela Group.

Staben began his presidency at UI in March 2014.

UI Director of Communications Jodi Walker told the Moscow-Pullman Daily News Staben has “very personal reasons” for interviewing with UNM, but was not commenting on his decision to interview as of yet.
