Weekend weather: Not a great period for outdoor activities

Rain.

We’re going to see quite a bit of it the next few days. Don’t forget your umbrella.

On Thursday, rain will be widespread across the region with a high near 57 and southwest winds 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday night will be more of the same with a low of 44. Additional amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch are possible.

Friday the chance of precipitation falls to 50 percent with a high around 53. Southwest winds 15 to 17 mph are expected, with gusts as high as 28 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are possible.

The low on Friday should dip to a breezy 37 with a 20 percent chance of showers.

Saturday, rain is likely again with a high of 52. Rain is near 100 percent Saturday night and could be heavy at times with a low around 45.

Sunday features a 50 percent chance of rain with a high of 64 and low around 44, before clearing on Monday in time to go back to work.
