Elynuik has two goals and two assists in Spokane Chiefs’ 6-0 win over Edmonton Oil Kings

EDMONTON – Hudson Elynuik had two goals and two assists, Jaret Anderson-Dolan also scored twice and the Spokane Chiefs rolled to a 6-0 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Sunday.

Nolan Reid and Riley Woods also scored. Reid has scored in three straight games while Woods is tied with Elyniuk for team lead with six goals.

Woods also had a pair of assists, as did Ty Smith, who leads the Chiefs with 13. Filip Kral, with an assist, has earned a point in all five games he has played with Spokane.

Goalie Dawson Weatherill made 22 saves for his first career shutout.

The Chiefs outshot Edmonton 32-22 and went 2 for 4 on the power play while denying the Oil Kings in their five power-play opportunities.

The Chiefs (7-5-0-1) are a point back of second-place Tri-City in the Western Hockey League’s U.S. Division and three behind Portland. Edmonton fell to 5-7-2-0.

The second game of the four-game road trip through the Central Division will be at Calgary on Tuesday at 6 p.m. (Pacific).
